Blog Post #12 - Church in the Present

I choose a picture of Pope Francis washing and kissing a lady’s feet because I think it’s an amazing representation of what he’s all about.  Pope Francis stresses the importance of loving your neighbor as you love yourself and he shows us ways in which we can do that everyday. We don’t have to do such big tasks like washing and kissing feet as Jesus did on the Last Supper but we can start by doing small things to make our community as better place. One of the main points in “What Makes Us Catholic” by Thomas Groome is that all denominations of christianity should unite as one. Instead of bringing enemies with one another we should learn about everyone's beliefs and unite under one house. Blog Post # 11 - Bridge to Present

          I chose this picture of me and some of the Notre Dame varsity soccer players at a Cal Berkeley game with Cal player and Notre Dame alum, Luca Deza,  because it's an example of how even after graduation you will still always be supported and a part of the Notre Dame. You never truly leave NDB when you graduate. This picture is just proof that you will always be supported and rooted for in whatever your doing life. Notre Dame is home to everyone who steps through the school doors.   To me the most interesting part of the history of the Sisters of Notre Dame was all the traveling they did to places all over the world. I personally would never be able to uproot my life and move to a foreign land so far from home. It just shows how much courage and faith in God they have that gives them strength to do these incredible things all over the world. They travelled from their homes in Europe to places like Kenya, South Sudan and even Californ...
